Mental Health Awareness Month

Bringing awareness about the vital role mental health support plays in the overall well-being of ourselves and our communities.

In different industries working customs and habits differ. Attorneys, for example, don’t have set work hours. Rather, they have to work until they finish the job to meet a deadline. But this fact shouldn’t get in the way of good work/life balance.

In fact, AB 2751, pending in the CA legislature (the right to disconnect after hours bill), suggests that providing good work/life balance for one’s employees may become mandatory.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we have added a well-being notice to email signatures that encourages our staff to respond at a time that works for them, based on time zone and working style.

Well-being notice:

Receiving this email outside of normal working hours? Managing work and life responsibilities is unique for everyone. I have sent this email at a time that works for me or from a time zone that differs from yours. Please respond at a time that works for you. I keep my phone on do not disturb when I am unavailable. And I will respond when I become available.

We know stress can exacerbate many underlying mental health issues. Small reminders like these can make a big difference to the mental health of your team, when combined with other initiatives like encouraging the use of PTO, and open-door communication policies.

At SR, we are committed to our employee’s total wellness, and we believe mental health, is health.
